Thank you so much, mystery writer :D

I love that Andy is still very much defensive of Toby after everything, and that Toby and Will drink together (albeit in a way that involves Toby indulging in his favourite pasttime of mockery). Very much in character, and so very... amusing to read.

Lemmings Syndrome (Josh & Sam; Santos era) - G anonymous December 14 2010, 16:04:43 UTC
Part 1
"Did you know that there’s a condition called Lemmings Syndrome?" Sam asked, tossing his empty take-out box into the trash.

Without lifting his eyes from his lunch, Josh attacked his baked potato with his fork as he answered, "I think some of the new Congressional Democrats have that condition. I can’t believe that Cooley flipped--"

"I read about it," Sam continued, purposefully interrupting Josh’s rant (he knew the rest, anyway). "There’s--well, I don’t know if it’s actually real, but there’s a pattern of behavior referred to as Lemmings Syndrome. And do you know where you can see it firsthand ( ... )

Part 2
At 7:12, Sam peered up 17th Street, then down, waiting for the staggered wall of headlights to pass the crosswalk.

Behind him, Josh’s voice rose. "Yeah? Well, maybe if he had half a brain, he might be able to understand how foreign aid might strengthen the image of American--God, didn’t we do this five years ago?"

A cab trailed behind the pack of traffic, a block away, and Sam fought a grin as he stepped forward.

Josh immediately darted into his peripheral vision, then passed him off, striding toward the opposite corner with his phone still pressed to his ear. Sam performed some fast math and hurried to catch Josh by the elbow in the middle of the street.

"What the hell?" Josh shouted as the cab cruised past them, close enough to touch. "Don’t you look where you’re going before you--" It took a moment, but Sam saw the recognition dawn over Josh’s face. "No ( ... )

This cracked me up. It's very them. I especially love the little details - you've really thought about the rhythm of political life in DC. And oddly, that baked potato seems very Josh to me.

Thanks! I don't even know where this came from, but it was amusing to write.

I live in DC, so the rhythm of life here is something I try to work into fics if I can. I love this city, so it's great to try to include any little detail I could. I always think it makes fics more real anyway. =)

Glad you liked this!

The staff didn’t linger in the screening room. Charlie stayed just for a moment, but Ellie could see the impatience in his stance; she could only assume Zoey was waiting for him somewhere. When her father released him for the night, he looked relieved ( ... )

Watching him quietly as they ate, she thought back to recent conversations with her mother; the State of the Union, which she had watched at her apartment with Chinese take-out and Rob (who she still had to tell her father about, jesus); her mother’s glaring absence. It was all puzzling together into something unsettling; if there had been one constant in her life, it had been her mother and father. Even when they were angry, they were together ( ... )

Thank you so much - I forgot exactly how much I loved the Bartlet daughters until I read this little fic. Ellie's thoughts on the importance of the White House and the fact that she once only ate white food are priceless :D
