Was that number how much you should eat to maintain (and not gain), or how much you should eat to lose? That sounds more like an eat to maintain number to me, but I'm not a doctor. Point being that if it is, both calories and total fat grams would scale accordingly.
When on Core you still get 35 extra points a weekredembersOctober 6 2008, 15:50:21 UTC
dont forget your extra points. Same as flex you get them. You need to add 2 servings of fat per day, you can put olive oil on your salad or have some peanut butter, or a bit of butter on your steamed veggies. All this is easily incorporated into either flex or core...but if you skip them your weight loss will stall.

Thank you!! I did remember the extra 35 points a week. They're like a lifeline. :) Core is tempting because I hate hate hate hate hate counting everything and logging everything and tracking everything. When I fall off the wagon, that's what goes first. So it'll be a matter of figuring out how to get that fat into that Core plan diet.
Assuming I ate no fat anywhere else, 56g of fat would be about 9 or 10 points, but that's assuming the fat has no nutritional value either and since I'm not about to down a bottle of olive oil, it isn't really that useful for me to think of it like that.
Thing is - 56g sounds like a lot, me sitting here at my computer not eating anything. I have a feeling if I were eating, I'd hit 56 before I even thought twice about it. If I ate this whole can of clam chowder for dinner, that'd be 20g of fat right there, according to the label. So it probably wouldn't be as tough as she made it sound. Sadly. :)
