yeah? I think they can't just live in a tank; they need a host. Who's going to volunteer, in the name of species preservation?

I heard of a parasitologist that kept a tapeworm for years to see how long tehy could live. And a parasitologist here says he ate some canine giardia to prove that it isn't zoonotic....that's professional dedication for you!
