This fascinates me to no end...I would be particularly interested to know more about the toxin. Apparently it's a natural mechanism similar to the one produced in felines and not an acquired toxin such as the one we find in the dentrobatid frogs or New Guinean birds...both of which acquire their toxins through insects which have consumed alkaloid-containing plants.
lessee.... the shrews... platypuses... slow lorises... dunno how many species of shrew thereare but still a fair number. *tries to remember whether moles have a paralysing bite*
