What I find most interesting about these big cat experiments, even if hybrid births do not occur.. it's not uncommon to see solitary animals like tigers developing social behaviors. I suppose that's to blame on the lack of territory to roam, and since there's always enough food to go around, sharing the land comes more easily to them.
