"Thrips are tiny insects, typically just a millimetre in length. Some are barely half that size. If that’s how big the adults are, imagine how small a thrips’ egg must be. Now, consider that there are insects that lay their eggs inside the egg of a thrips."

It was an interesting read because they explained the different ways insects adapted to being so small.

Insects don't have a lot in the way of a heart in the first place, so that part isn't unbelievable, but SMALLER THAN AN AMOEBA - every time I read that my mind reels.

ditto :) But even if insects do have an open circulatory system I'm still startled that they can eliminate it completely - it's one in the eye for the 'irreducible complexity' claims of Intelligent Design shysters
