Seems to be one of those things - you discover something new and suddenly you keep running into unrelated mentions of it. Such as discovering that such a taxonomic clade as
Marrellomorphs even exist ( I didn't know that the
'Lace Crabs' of the Burgess Shales even had relatives! ) and within a day finding an artist you follow has been drawing

There's a lot of cool species who use light to hide in darkness like that, I think the most impressive is the Jewel Squid.
I've also read that the cookie cutter shark has a belly that glows this way except for one non-glowing patch behind the head, which would be very visible from below. It's theorized that this actually lures larger predators for the little guy to take bites out of.
