I love these little guys. They're all over the place where I live, and it gives me a happy to see them running about, doing their lizardly things.

eta: a. sagrei also can evolve damn quickly when it needs to.

I love studies like this, my favourite kind of "in yo face" to creationists.

I need to google for that one study where the lizards evolved to have completely different kinds of diets. Like insect eating to plant eating in a short amount of time, their digestive systems had a major overhaul, almost like creating a new species altoghether.

This also happened with Falcarius, a raptor dinosaur that evolved to eat leaves in a short time.

Google fu time.

oh god for some reason I found an anti evolution site and this line regarding transitional horse fossils made me cringe: " As for the fossils’ progressive increase in size, this is a mute point. Modern horses vary greatly in size, from small dog-sized miniatures to massive Belgians, Clydesdales, and Percherons."
Gee human selection had nothing to do with that >:C
