This is a few years old, but it's the first I've seen it.

Back in 2006, giant yellow jacket nests started turning up in the southeast United States. These were in Alabama. Google turns up articles about similar discoveries in Florida and Georgia. I have seen those in real life and I can testify that they are terrifying. They sound like helicopters.

NIGHTMARES!

There was a giant one under some outdoor cabinet in a house we had just moved into when I was little. My mom opened it and the all came swarming out. I screamed and cried at the sight of a stinging insect for the next decade.
