ahahaha that was my first thought too.

I also think the X is created by one asteroid going parallel and one going vertical and the center of the X is where they impacted. The smaller one got pulverized and the bigger one is on the left now.

BUT I COULD BE WRONG, THAT'S JUST WHAT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO ME.
