Caecilians: not worms or snakes, but amphibians that look like them

I made a comment in the blue earthworm post about how one of the photos in the article reminded me of a little-known amphibian called a Caecilian. From this picture, you may noticed that they do look like worms (or snakes depending on the size.) They may also be mistaken as eels when swimming.

One of my favorite amphibians, and fairly high on my wanted pet list (though I can't decide between an aquatic species and a terrestrial one).

When I was little and learned about these, I was impressed that every single animal group seems to have hit on a serpentine form at least once except for birds, so I drew my own "worm-like" birds. I considered weasels and ferrets the mammalian equivalent, but that feels like kind of a stretch now. Maybe a snakey mammal will evolve in the future.
