That reminds of a non-Newtonian fluid. Ah, I love these sorts of things. =)

HOLY SHIT, SOMEONE ELSE WHO'S HEARD OF EX MACHINA. Yes, yes, it is. I discovered the series a couple of weeks ago and have been freaking out over it ever since -- but it's as if no one on Lj has heard of it!

I've heard of it... although I am not a fan (I'm just not into comic books)... but you're not alone. A few of my friends like it too. I hear it's good... I suppose it must be or ya'll wouldn't read it. :)

Amazing stuff, but I admit to wanting to poke at it. Poke!

I would love to poke it, too. Just as I would love to place my hand in a vat of mercury; which I know is something I can never do. But imagine how cool it would feel!

Oooh... now I'm watching all the other related videos on Youtube. so cool! It's like that weird exec toy from the 80s with all the magnets that would clump together... sort of.

oldie but goodie

i bought some of this liquid (as a boxed toy) in Japan, but the instructions for it. Does anyone know of audio files with the right frequencies - that i could download and play to make the patterns? would I just put it on top of the speaker? just wish i had more of the liquid though.

maybe I could just use audio from one of the videos if it was god enough quality. I need to play/experiment with maybe diff electronic glitchy music or something.

guess i don't totally understand yet how audio frequencies affect it, similar to the magnets affecting it?

Have you seen that video where it shows the patterns sound frequencies make in sand?

Ohhhhhhh THAT's what I was getting this mixed up with. Thank you! I love that frigging video. Seems like in sone of those Japanese videos, the black iron ore goo is affected by sound waved too, bit maybe it's just microphone affecting power of electrocmagnet under the table.
