Apparently robber flies are attracted to the scent of the territorial markings.

I could understand male depression in the philanthus, because it seems that everyone IS out to get them.

I am! Though I am more fond of bees and hornets than parasitic wasps...parasites in general kind of scare me as much as they fascinate me (I am thankful of the ones that get rid of the pests in our garden tho).

pest control of termites, and occasionally bees. I do have a marine biology degree tho

moved to Perth, grant money never eventuated, so we never did the plankton atlas, and I had to go find some other way to support myself.

Marine biology graduates compete ferociously for a very limited number of jobs
