I didn't know there was a name for this. Apparently my doctor never heard of it either, all she said was "dry skin".

My first thought to the artistic uses were...
Did they put on a cableknit sweater and forget about it?

Cause, at first glance those kinda look like the patterns you see on sweaters.

Her name is Ariana. I got to teach with her a few years ago, when she was working on that project. She said it didn't hurt at all. :-)

I used to have this! Actually, I'm on antihistamines for other allergies and haven't had problems with it for years. Maybe that solved the problem for me. I didn't know it was a condition.

same here actually! i remember being tested for it as a kid and it being an issue but i grew out of it (and the hives too, thank goodness)

My mom has this or something similar to this. She's been on hard core antihistamines since she was about 10 or so.
