One aspect of the brain damage you may have seen mention in the House episode 'Poison' is an increased sex drive. I know I've read that somewhere years ago, but I'm buggered if I can find a citation.

Oliver Sachs wrote about the libido effect of tertiary syphilis in The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat, a collection of narratives about interesting neurological patients. There's a reference to is in this article. Is that the one you saw?

I read somewhere that Henry VIII might have had it and if it affected his behavior it might have changed the course of history especially in regards to his break with the Catholic Church.

I read a fascinating article that suggested Henry's problem was extreme recurrent seasonal scurvy. It presented a good and coherent case.
