Wow! I've studied feral cat behavior on my own for years (yep, I'm one of those crazy cat ladies) and I've never seen them do something like that, although I could definitely believe it if the child were an infant; the cats would see him as harmless and snuggle up to him for warmth. (As far as I can tell, cats tend to view anything close to their size as strange looking cats - and an infant, being unable to vocalize in anything other than sounds similar to cat noises... makes sense that they'd bring food and what not.)

I once read a similar story in a book about feral children, of a poor Russian boy who ran away from home and lived with feral dogs for two years. He found them food and they kept him warm at night.

I read about him too, as well as a girl who was raised by actual wolves and was attempted to be rehabilitated. She did not take well to the rehab.

She often ran around on her knees and hands, growled, and bit at people.
