So I just got done writing my site's longest article, three solid pages of Cephalopoda including a simple summary of the group and a rather arguable "top ten" of what I consider the most overall impressive. That was very informative. I recently saw something on tv about the mimic octopus, I would have put them #1 as well. They are absolutely amazing. I had read/seen quite a bit about those "giant" squids, but I was not aware of the taloned suckers....scary.

I will always love cuttlefish though...

One glaring omission IMO: Firefly squid! Photophores AND color vision!

I was actually playing Endless Ocean last night and encountered Firefly Squid...all my squealing of delight got my husband's attention and he wanted to know why. ;) I explained why I thought they were so cool and that they were my second favorite cephalopod. He asked two questions: "Okay, what's your favorite, then? And...how can you even have a favorite cephalopod?"

Because I'm a geek, of course. ;)

(For the record, my favorite's the Pacific octopus. Boring, I know.)

I love it, the octopus is the most awesome thing in the sea! I would have included the blue ringed octopus.
