So I guess we'll see. Their paper would have been peer reviewed, but if their concerns and objections are addressed well by Berger, then the ball's still very much in play.

Don't you just LOVE academic turf wars? The other group of hobbits in Indonesia are plagued with similar chest-pounding by people who are supposed to be intellectuals.
