Blue Frog

I searched for this in the tags and didn't find anything about it, so I hope it's not a repost.

I found this really interesting article in our local paper about a tree frog someone had found with a rare mutation that made it bright blue instead of green.

aww, poor guys, they are so cute :(

it's similar to albinism, everything not sufficiently camouflaged will get eaten :(

Actually, the colour blue isn't generally considered delicious. Many species of molds are blue, and many of them are harmful. (One exception is the one that makes blue cheese.) So, if it's blue, it can be pretty but it's not supposed to be delicious. ;)

(I wonder what will happen in some decades, when every other food has been tinted blue? Will people still shun every unnatural-coloured foodstuffs?)

you mean, like the green-blue ketchup sold here?

(our movie-festival club had a campaign this semester at our university, as their color is blue they sold everything blue, cheese cake, maccaroni, marble cake, crabs, potatoes (the only ones not tinted)

I've seen a frog trying to be blue. This type can change colour for camouflage, and it was on a blue tiled wall. It had valiantly made it to sickly grey, but I was proud.
