Trying to seem bigger/smaller to the other owls, the barn owl is only a little larger than itself so it tries to scare it, but eagle owl(?) is way too big for that, apparently

I can't translate, but my guess is that it's trying to scare the first one and just seem less threatening not to get attacked by the second one

Last time I saw this posted, someone speculated that the second look was the little owl trying to imitate a scary predator, like a cat.
