Well ... it gets hot here in the summer.

No, its not as unusual as you'd think. Random fact: Unlike when they hop on land (two legs at once), when they're swimming they alternate.

Wow.

I was gonna guess it was Lucky Bay near Esperance. The roos often sit on the beach there (making for great shots for tourism council billboards), not sure how often they swim there though.

I'm guessing this a Torquay in Australia.
Sharks attacking kangeroos in teh sea at Torquay in Devon would just be surreal.

Kangaroos are actually really good swimmers, you just don't usually find them close to beaches as well...people are there. It is not really an anomaly for them to be in the water as they frequently can be found in swimming holes and billabongs throughout the outback.

FWIW, one jumped into the pool in my town a few weeks back, apparently they were closing up and he got in and went for a swim!
