Apparently one of the "awesome" things that would happen in this scenario is that the Midwest's farming would be knocked out, causing world starvation. The hits just keep coming.
My strategy would be to live next to Yellowstone so as to miss the "party" in the year or so after it blows up.

It's going to be super-awesome when it finally blows, except that most life on earth will probably suffer as a result. Certainly most of North America will be empty and lifeless for a while. I bet when Americans leave the country to find shelter other places in the world, nobody's going to let us in.

I live in northern Montana, up by Glacier National Park. If it goes off while I'm still here, I'm totally fucked.
Still love the park though, especially those mud pots♥.
