Funny to relate: the one thing that is certain among the scuttlebutt on Twitter is that Iranian internet connections are sufficiently distrusted that everyone's retweeting heads-ups on where proxy servers are located.

WhatTheHashtag is good for real-time hashtag tracking, as you observe it's tricky to separate out the genuine news from the unsubstantiated rumours and speculation - all I will say is that, if the results of an election become a matter of opinion rather than a matter of fact, there's a major problem there.
