Hey, why didn't anyone tell me that the BBC made a series about female former codebreakers from Bletchley Park who solve crimes in postwar London? Because apparently the BBC made a TV series just for me and I totally failed to notice. Have any of you out there seen it? Is it any good ( Read more... )

Cool. I'd rather hoped that you had seen it, both because it seems like it would be your sort of thing if it were done well, and because I'd trust your opinion on whether it was good.

It's good. It's also very dark; I hadn't expected how very dark it was.

They're making a second season, too.

Hello,

It was made by the commercial broadcaster, ITV, not the BBC, and maybe for that reason it was cancelled just this spring. There are two series of it though, and it's pretty fabulous.

Oops. Thanks for the correction - I always get a bit annoyed when non-Brits casually confuse ITV and the BBC, and here I am doing it myself.

Shame about the cancellation.

The first season is much better than the second, but even the second is worth watching.
