At my school, 5 years ago, if you had a 95 & above average, you were exempt from finals and got out 5 days early.

I liked Lestat, but I think the cast is better than the show. I'm all for Wicked, Rent & Les Mis.

Phantom is amazing of course. MM! has amazing standing room. 'spray lotto is first row, I don't think many people lotto matinees. Chicago is a great show. Hairspray standing room sucks.

I'll be baaaaaack.

if only that rule applied to college :(

so...these lotto tickets. Do they entail waiting outside the box office hours before the show? 'cause I have a feeling it's gonna be freeeezing in December :\ and how do you go about buying standing room only tickets? how much (ballpark) do they cost? I'm just full of questions :P

Standing room is 20 - 25 dollars. I'm not sure. Well lotto & standing room go hand and hand for me so one is 20 and one is 25. I think lotto is 25?

Not for hours! Anyhoo, if it will be cold, many people won't be waiting there. I would say. Anyway, maybe 35 - 45 minutes outside before standing room goes on sale.

Lotto? Well if you're at Wicked, lotto is outside and it's a crowd of massive fangirls. If you're at Hairspray, you're inside (not many people know about 'spray lotto, so yeah.) unless there are too many people.

I'm really not familiar with the lottos for the other shows but I can ask my friends.

The first time I searched for "musicals" with Google, I found your livejournal. Your livejournal is the first that I visited. And I discovered the livejournal communities, thanks to you!

okay that's scary.

haha yeah I've heard about those wicked fangirls..... scaryyy

so...I'm confused. I thought all lotto seats were in the first 2 rows? o_0 no? and standing room is just like...you stand during the whole show, right? I do belive that was a stupid question :P

what would you say are the chances of getting lotto seats to say...wicked? not so high? and how many standing room tickets do they usually give out? do they just hand them out until there's no more room inside?

oh please enlighten me, all knowing broadway queen

Good luck with your finals!! Finals suck, especially right before summer when all you want to do is sleep and not study. *hug*

Christmas time in NYC is freakin' INSANE!! Did it once and don't have the patience to do it again, LMAO! Have a great time seeing all of those musicals! I saw Lion King here in L.A. a couple years ago, it was very good.

I saw The Light in the Piazza in March. It's a really lovely show and wonderful music. Though I don't think you can watch it if you're going to be coming here in December. Last time I read on Playbill.com, it said that they would be closing in July. It also says they're starting a touring schedule in August at various cities, so you might be able to catch it on tour?

As for the lottos, I'm not that familiar with lotto tickets. I know Rent has the $20 front row seats. My cousin's friends got lucky this one year they came one year. I didn't realize that they HAD lottos at other shows. I just assumed they did things like standing room? But then again I wouldn't honestly know. When I do get a chance to go to a show, it's either I get a discount pass from school or we order the tickets through TicketMaster.

drats! I was hoping to catch Piazza in December too :( Hopefully the tour will stop by Dallas!

Thanks for the info on the lotto tickets! I'll have to look further into that :)

Are you going to try the Rent one? Lion King is great too.

Avenue Q just about killed me. It was that hysterical. Any show that has songs called "Internet is for Porn" and "Everybody is a little bit racist" is pretty different. :p

It's just as well. When Mom and I went to see Piazza it was like $100 tickets, and the leg space was almost non-existent. I'm like 5 feet and I was just barely comfortable. Luckily there were lockers to store the winter coats or else we'd be cramped! I signed up to this waiting list for $20 student tickets for Lincoln Center shows. ^^ Hopefully I'll get on the list for tickets in the future. Hm.. wonder what will replace Piazza at the theater.

I'm gonna try for standing room/lotto seats for every show that has them available ;) otherwise I'd just come back with a runny nose and a hole in my wallet. Plus I've only seen one show on Broadway so far *hangs head in shame* that was back in the day when the La Boheme revival was running. So I plan on making up for lost time ;)

wow...cramped seats and you're only 5'?? You'd think with all the money broadway rakes in, they could afford better theaters! :P I'd probably be dying in those seats *is almost 5'7* so maybe it's for the best that I don't see Piazza :P

We were all exempt from finals when we graduated from my high-school. Although, to be fair, my school was incredibly stringent and I think let us off because they knew we'd worked our asses for four years. Besides, the AP exams were bad enough without having finals on top of them. Good luck finishing everything!

Am too traumatized to discuss musicals right now...

Excuse me for being a total ass and not realizing you meant college. DUH! I'm such a complete idiot sometimes. ;)

Silly, there's no need for you to apologize. I'm still raw around the edges, but I am very happy for you and that you are excited. *loves*
