You are reading this, so you know me and you know I am fat and have been fat, or fat in waiting for the best part of 40 years.  Over the years I have tried various diets, shakes, regiemes, courses, joined gyms and stopped going...several time for each of the above. ganbare!
i wish i'd had the sense (amidst the nagging and haranguing) to think of the point your excellent friend made!
i don't think you're fond enough of yourself for self-preservation to be much of a motivator, but i can see you succeeding for the boys' sake.
the course of sibutramine sounds rather horrid but if it gets you into good habits and does the job then it's worth it.
good luck.

This makes me, George, Kita and Lexi very happy. From a purely selfish point of view we want you to hang around for a lot longer yet. :-)

My dad died when i was 23. He'd been my foundation...it sounds cliched, but it's true. My world was turned utterly upside down when i lost him. He has missed so many milestones in my life...he wasn't there to advise on me buying my first home, walk me down the aisle, see me happily married to George, set up my own successful business, support me through infertility and ivf, see the birth of two gorgeous grand daughters (and he would have made an AWESOME grandad). Even now, 15 years later, i regularly ache deep inside, when i think of all the things i am missing out on sharing with him. I missed out on saying thank you to him for being such a great dad...because i didn't know just how truly great he'd been until i became a parent myself.

Be there for your boys as long as you possibly can. :-)
