Cara had decided to give the picnic a miss. She didn't like crowds and mingling at the best of times, and given she didn't have anyone coming to visit her, going to this particular one was a slap in the face she could avoid

Besides she had much, much better things to be doing with her time. One of which was in the room with her.

Clark was good with being one of those things, especially with his parents far away in Smallville. As much as he missed them, it was for the best that they stay on the farm and he visit them at some point instead.

"You're sure you want to stay up here?" Clark checked again. "There's at least free food in the park."

"And there's privacy up here," Cara replied, displaying even less subtlety than usual. No reason. "Unless you've suddenly developed an exhibitionist streak."

Her tone indicated she had very few problems if he had.

"Somehow I don't think exhibitionism is one of those things I excel at," he admitted. "But I can't say I have any complaints about staying up here with you." At least one of them could kind of admit there were feelings involved.
