Wow, what a fascinating collection of character studies. The one that pulls at my heartstrings the most is Kaylee's -- she *knows* she's not like the girls from Osiris, but she cares so genuinely, she can't stop trying to win Simon over anyway. *dabs at eyes* :)

I liked that Kaylee wants to be the best woman he has ever know. I guess I had seen her as a tad opportunistic; she knows that she could never compete with wealthy women form the core, but is going to try and get him to lover her anyway. Your way is better, and I think it conforms to what we have seen on the episodes.

And I liked Jayne and has dog, very cute.

Amazing job, River is good and Inara gets hurt. I love this fics.
