Very happy someone wrote this prompt. Definitly putting my vote in for a prequel. I'm curious about the back story, how you decided to go about Joanna's birth. Really, one fic was all I expected but I'd be exceedingly happy if you turned it into a little series, or even just a couple (this and a prequel).
I loved the part where Joanna got caught by the headmaster.
"Oops?" And innocently spoken as well. I can so see it.

Now that's a Mirror!Verse story! It started out as very uncomfortable, which made it perfect that she was not defenseless and could take care of herself.

I have to say, the interactions between Kirk and McCoy himself have me intrigued, though. Joanna calls them both her parents and they have both taught her, but the tension between them was what held my attention the most.
