For that reason alone Merlin had chosen the seat at the far end of the waiting room. Unfortunately, this did not help much as the waiting room consisted entirely of two leather arm chairs, a piece of modern art affixed to the opposite wall, and a potted plant with whom Merlin had developed a love-hate relationship.
Heh. This made me giggle.

Merlin tried to slit his wrist that night. A doctor caught him just in time. Merlin never forgave the man.
