Ahiru's Story, Part 3

Feb 09, 2007 07:24

It took me forever to get here, but I'm finally at the soup kitchen. The soup is worth it, every single spoonful. Plus, it was free, so I certainly couldn't complain about it anyway. Not that I would...it reminds me of my mother's Hühnereintopf. Her version was a bit more hearty, but...she didn't have to worry about feeding such a large crowd. Just ( Read more... )

What kind of soup is Hurnerintopf? J-just curious.

Ahiru's story is neat... so far it sort of reminds me of the ones my mom used to tell me, actually.

Oh! I wasn't thinking that most people wouldn't know what that is...it's chicken. Chicken stew.

Yes, Ahiru's story is very similar to those sorts of stories, isn't it? Actually, the whole town was that was because of Drosselmeyer and his story.

Ah, thank you.

The... the whole town a fairytale?

Basically. When the Prince and the Raven left they story, the story sort of...took over the town. That's how we had an anteater at the ballet class.

The only one that ever noticed anything weird was Ahiru, too. It was odd, but until towards the end, I never really thought about how odd it was that I was going to school with a cat for a teacher...

Mytho's such a good little boy to do whatever he's told.

I'm glad he doesn't anymore. I don't have to worry about him as much.

He's spread his wings? How lovely for him.

Yes, I'm glad for him. He's responsible as long as he has a heart.

So... the giant anteater was also a ballet dancer, and her name was Anteaterita.

Right.

It's true, although you're free to chose not to believe it.

I wouldn't complain about her name when yours is Raven.

Well, you have a duck that can change into a girl. So I'll take your word for it.

I prefer Raven over Ravenrita. Besides, I'm not a walking bird.

To be honest, I'm a little surprised you even trust me about Ahiru. Of course, it's not a bad thing that you do.

Well...I suppose that's true. ...And no offense, but if you actually looked like a bird, I'd probably...freak out.

Oh! You mean...Ahiru?
Wait, are you implying something?

Thank you! Thank you very much for finding her!

Have you found the people you were looking for yet?

So lemme get this straight: If she so much as hints she has feelings for this prince guy, she'll turn into a speck of light? That's kinda harsh, don't you think? I mean, what kinda rule is that anyway?

... saaaaay, what if she's not the princess, just Ahiru or a duck? Would she still vanish if she told him how she felt then?

-by the way, this love stuff is absolutely nauseating. Eeeuuuk!

Well...I think hinting is okay. She can express her love for him in dance, for example...I think it's just coming out and actually saying "I love you".
It is harsh though. ...That's the way Drosselmeyer opperates. He likes tragedy.

Huh. I don't know...it's possible the same rule wouldn't apply. But then...I wouldn't want her to try it, just in case she DOES still vanish.

Is love a "human thing" as well?

Through dance? What kinda of dumb way is that to express yourself? She's better off just saying 'like' than 'love'.

You know, this Dross guy sounds like he's doing more bad than good to everyone. Are you sure that 'Raven' is the villain here?

Of course love ain't just a human thing. Ahiru likes that prince guy, doesn't she? And she's a duck. Yeesh, and you call yourself a writer...

What's wrong with dancing?! It's a perfectly fine way of expressing yourself!

Heh. Very good point. You're catching on to the way Drosselmeyer works.

I know, I know. I was being sarcastic.
