Irritation returns to his face. "What look?"
"Well, it's gone now, but you seemed a bit funny there for a moment."
A bit funny, indeed. I laughed out loud at the conversation, but by the end... not so much. Poor Jack.

That's as far as I've read just now, but based on that one line, you got it! Lovely Giselle (always wondered where she might have learned such a vocabulary!) there's such a sweetness in her heart...and Jack would make you look twice even if you didn't want to.
Jack's black gaze, in any other character such a bad or evil thing, but with him, well, very interesting, innit? Now, back to find more gems!
