THIS IS MY EVIL GLEE FACE! Why hello new reader! *cackles* I am super psyched that you decided to stop by and check things out. I love it when people get caught up in this 'verse! And you're right, the emotions and everything are complicated, right? That's so much of what I love about it. Looking forward to seeing you around for future installments! ;-)

Yes! I'm so happy to see this! I have been waiting for this story to continue!

Intriguing chapter. The "door" being opened swings both ways, doesn't it?

On Sam's end, I don't think I've previously seen Sam this--hmmm, weakened? If that's the correct word. At the very least, I've never before seen him so obviously vulnerable. Hell, if I'm remembering correctly, there was only one line, just one, in all the previous sections that made me believe that Sam-the-brother was still in there. (I think it was How do you still do this to me? or something along those lines back in Training Day. Not sure though. Gonna have to reread.) This is a very interesting break for him; this is Sam "swinging wide the door" despite his own intentions. He has traded his own vulnerability for superficial power over Dean, and he doesn't even realize it ( ... )

Can I just say ... your feedback/analysis of this story makes me grin until my cheeks hurt. Love it so much! Thank you! Seriously x 1000!

This is absolutely, as you said, a kind of break in some ways from the trend in the 'verse, but for readers moreso than Dean. It fits with Dean's own beliefs and contemplations in the chronologically later pieces that have already been posted. *Something* keeps him going, even if there are only hints to cling to. It doesn't always work out well for him, obviously, but the breaking process is not smooth or perfectly linear. They have ups and downs, forward movement and moments of regression. They both remain flawed and struggling to align in some sustainable way. That is the dance I'm always working to portray. I'm really glad so much of it is coming through!

Oh my god, you're back! Praise the lord! (Whichever lord that may be.) I am so very, insanely happy about this. I've been waiting so long, and I'm not even in fandom anymore, not really, but I come by to check for you every once in a while, and yays! This time there was new ESU! I am terribly anxious for "Going Down" to be posted, but no pressure... I'm like Dean, a little - just happy to get anything at all. ;)

Thank you.

I am! I really am! I sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm as well as your patience! I often wonder how people find these stories. I'm like "is everybody tracking my journal or something?" But a few of you have mentioned this really heart-warming return pilgrimage to see if there's more. I intend, very much, to continue to make your efforts worthwhile. :)
