[original poetry] - 4 poems from the past

Here's a bit of my original poetry. They are all resurrected from various readings in 2004, in need of editing, but all opinions are welcome if you are so inclined. It's been sometime since I revisisted these older works, and something tonight - maybe this raga and it's sweet-sad sound, prompted me to post before the final fall into sleep.

I'm especially fond of Shrimp Waters - subtle, rich, disturbing.

Oh, and do you think that was Jack at the Mercury Lounge?

Oh my GOD! Yay! I'm so bloody excited that you posted a comment, I could just bellydance around your kitchen - if I was in your kitchen. In which case we'd be smoking and baking some sort of pie, so I guess that's moot.

They do bring back memories, don't they? Makes me think of these, variously:

- The sound of trains on your front porch and a "forced" pause.
- "You pressed the panic button? Great, now when the cops come they'll see two dangerous 'Mexicans' and a white girl. We are screwed."
- Clayton, Clayton, and more Clayton
- The first time I purchased art from an all night coffee shop.
- All the "Golden Gathers" measuring high on the M. Richter scale
.....and of course.....

The terrible beauty of a plate of rice and eggs tumbling to the floor.

Anywho, glad you enjoyed revisiting them. God knows Shrimp Waters is the one I edited. Does that say something good or bad?

In any case, not quite Jack, although maybe if I went to smoke crack with some old friends.....

P.S. I think I'll post the Hot Corner poem. You should totally do
