I started writing this before last week's Monday Challenge but that challenge influenced it quite a bit. And made it a hell of a lot longer. So. writing_readers shares the blame for this one.

Heh. I'm glad you liked it...when you made sense of it. And that the tenses didn't throw you off.

I realized after posting that...I really needed to post some more background info. If you know the fandom, the thing with the names is actually somewhat important to the story. Roe, the medic, doesn't call anyone by anything but their last name, you get the impression that he's distancing himself that way. Then he calls Babe first, Edward and then finally by his nickname. And I should have put that in a header for none Band of Brothers fandom readers. Or said it somewhere in the story.

bear in mind that most of us aren't history geeks. ;D*snerk* Yeah, I tend to assume that everyone is interested in what I'm interested in. It's a bad habit. I'm working on it. *grins
