I was shocked! Even some mothers that had to have a c-section supported this statement.

I agree. Nobody should be shamed for having a c-section. I've also read that it's no problem for the baby as long as you are having contractions first- then they are prepared and know that something is happening. Scheduled c-sections can be more problematic because the baby has no cues that it will leave the womb soon. But even then, if you have a scheduled c-section, your kids grow up fine. For the mom it's better in most cases to have a "natural" birth because the risk of complications is actually lower and the healing is much, much faster. People underestimate how horrible the post c-section healing process can be and how long it takes to recover (sometimes more than 6 months).
