I thought I was going insane! smeddley December 23 2011, 03:42:33 UTC
The pages looked all strange, and I couldn't, for ANYTHING, change my icon. I unchecked the 'disable customized comment pages' option, and I think because I also have 'show all entries in my style' enabled, I have something like the old comment paged back (and can change my icon!). I'm sure they'll find a way to disable that shortly, as well.

...and does anyone know how to change icons in the new style? Clicking on it does nothing!

Augh you can still type in subject lines I'm JEALOUS. (They'll probably break that soon)

Turns out I can leave comments when I'm on Internet Explorer or using my Android phone, but not on Google Chrome. I heard commenting doesn't work on Firefox either. What's your browser?

So on Chrome IIRC I can't change my icon, but I can using IE and my phone. You'll have to wait for all your icons to load instead of selecting from keywords. *eyeroll* The only silver lining in this situation is I only have six icons.

I'm a Firefox person, so, yeah, not going so well. And if I click on the e-mail to reply, I get the new and 'improved' commenting, where I can't switch icons or use subject lines. Or,as it turns out, post a comment at all (the 'post' button is greyed out!)

Plus, it's really UGLY, the new comment layout!

Yep, that's how the 'post' button is for me too on Chrome. Then again, one of my f-listers uses Chrome and she hasn't had any problems. So IDK what's going on here.

It's very Facebook-y, has too many white space and extraneous boxes/borders, and has HORRENDOUS loading time. A lot of times "expand" doesn't work at all. =___=

Good news bb, looks like Dreamwidth is planning to start allowing community imports later this week. *hugs*

Months-late reply: We're not importing the community (ficbits belonging to their respective writers, etc.), but we are crossposting in both comm.s now =)

I still need to change the layout of this comm. so the commenting feature isn't fubar. *le sigh*
