I love Big, which has Tom Hanks and is ELEVENTY-MILLION times better than that rip-off 13 going on 30.
Trying to write for Merlin (BBC) fandom again =P
Character: Battle-weary +2, 107 words
Arthur had not even seen his twenty-fifth summer, yet at times he felt in his bones a battle weariness more fitting for a man of forty.
Camelot's hostile laws toward magic meant a great chink in the kingdom's defense. Enemy kingdoms with their sorcerers never hesitated to exploit this weakness.
Arthur and a retinue of his knights had been sent to deal with an uprising in the Southern border of Camelot. Ordinarily, his father would not have sent him after some upstart villagers; however, witnesses claimed that the uprising was led by a mighty sorcerer. The Crown Prince was charged to neutralize the threat to the kingdom.

You have coins to spend and visited a fortuneteller. She told you to pick two cards. You picked "The Child Catcher" and "Bluebells."

"Are you the child catcher?" Arthur looked up inquisitively. The tall figure had appeared seemingly out of nowhere on the field of bluebells as the white clouds shifted in the orange sky.
After taking a closer look, Arthur saw that the face belonged to a boy not older than him. He was perhaps half a head taller than Arthur, but then Morgana was a whole head taller than Arthur. (Gaius had promised that once he hit his growth spurt, he would be taller than Morgana.)

This is part of my "Five Ways Merlin Emrys Didn't Meet Arthur Pendragon"-- RebelSorcerer!Merlin.
Frankly, Arthur questioned the veracity of these eyewitness accounts. One of the patrolmen claimed that the dusty fields shuddered and cracked, swallowing the charging horses whole. Another saw a serpent, formed out of dry autumn leaves, spitting out sparks of fire.
Arthur thought the serpent sounded pretty, but it doesn't exactly strike terror in the heart of the masses, does it? The King had looked unamused when he pointed this out.

Blue eyes blinked. "What's child catcher?"
Arthur shrugged. It was something his nurse often told him; she said the child catcher lies in wait in the gloaming to steal away misbehaving children. He had long suspected she made it all up to terrify him into perfect princely manners.
The boy looked puzzled by Arthur's non-response. After a moment's contemplation, he folded himself and sat next to Arthur on the swaying field of bluebells.

How did you find us?
You're doing it correctly, just include your fandom + move in your subject line (like you're doing here: J+2, Professor Layton) =)
I have no idea which fandom Professor Layton is, but it sounds interesting!

(It's a Nintendo DS puzzle game, and it's incredibly addicting, with a tiny and devoted fandom. XD)

My only foray into Nintendo DS is to play Brain Age X-D
