My favorite mythological creature is Caladrius.

Title: Birthday Gift
Fandom: Christy
Word count: 104
Prompt: Charm +2
Total points: 2

With a gentle kiss on her left cheek Christy's father clasps closed the hatch of the newly purchased necklace. She smiles brightly trying not to bounce around like a child would, after all she was twelve now.

"Oh thank you daddy!" She exclaims while she rubs her finger around the gold charm in the shape of the cross, it feeling cold and metallic.

"You're welcome love I hope you like it." His smile is teasing along with his usual charm and graces thrown in. Christy stands up from the chair, turns and hugs him hard.

"Of course I love it."

"Good. And happy birthday."

Title: Beauitful Show
Fandom: Christy
Word count: 138
Prompt: Stormy +2 / Beautiful +2
Total points: 6

Thunder trembles the sky, loud like a furious creature unhappy that it was just awoken, soon the lightning crashes glowing the sky bright for a moment. Christy shivers pulling the shawl around her tighter to protect herself from the harsh winds and the rain that seemed to be flying from every direction. She realized it was foolish to be standing here instead of the safety of the bedroom, but the show was too beautiful to walk away from. As a child she feared bad storms to the point of hysteric tears and clinging to her father's leg. Now it was her favorite thing in the world. As another bolt of lightning strikes a tree just mere feet below her window she lets out a yelp, heart pounding. Deciding perhaps inside would be the for the best after all.

Prompt: Rain +2 / Wind +2
Total points: 10

"Miz Christy do yah reckon anyone will come to school today?" Ruby Mae asks as she pours water from the pitcher into the glasses on the table.

"I think a few will show up. Likely the Spencers." Christy responses cutting into her egg, the yolk breaking and covering the plate.

"Cuz I think with that rain and the blowin' of the wind zar nobody gonna come."

"Perhaps not, you'll be there so that's at least one."

"Do I as too Miz Christy? It won't be fair to the others if I gots ahead."

"They'll be fine and so will you Ruby Mae. You have some reading to catch up on anyways, right?"

"Yes ma'am. But could school end early? If no one comes I mean."

"I suppose that would be fine."

"Good."

Title: Unearthing a Miracle
Fandom: Christy
Word count: 160
Prompt: Gold +2
Total points: 12

Christy stood on the steps of the school (and church) watching a few of the younger kids digging into the earth, dirt flying every which way. She wished she could provide them shovels and other digging tools to help them along and protect their fingers too. Here it was a miracle enough to get paper for a third of the students, extras and toys would likely remain a nightly pray before bed.

"Miz Christy!" Creed Allen calls out excited running towards the steps, the other kids following behind.

"What is it?" He holds his hand out full of orange tinted dirt.

"Do you think its gold?! Here in Cutter Gap?" Christy tries not to laugh at them, knowing the discovering of gold here was even more impossible than the arrival of a few shovels.

"I don't think that is, but maybe there is! Keep on trying." Without further words they all scrapper back to their digging to uncover a miracle.

Title: Breaking Spirits
Fandom: Christy
Word count: 143
Prompt: PC Box A: Amber +3 / Angry +2 / Flash +1
Total points: 18

It took the biting of the inside of the cheeks to stop herself from giving him satisfaction of seeing her cry, she could taste the blood, the pain not helping her any. With flash of nothing less than pure anger from eyes she turns abruptly from him, walking towards the mission. Once with her back facing away she allows herself to drop a few tears down. She knew Neil had made questioning her beliefs, challenging her at every turn an art form and she should of been adjusted to it by now; and often she was. But today he won't let up, kept pushing, belittling and forcing the issue. She knew the stress of not sleeping for three days and the death of Amber Wilkerson only fueled his fire. Still she feared it would be awhile before apologizes were exchanged and fence mended.
