SO THIS WAS... going to be something else entirely but. I've been wanting to expand a bit on the background of Striketeam, so this happened instead.

“Man, this is… Commander!” Yamamoto’s head popped up from his laptop’s screen, fingers still flying. “Yaracchi!”
“Yamamoto,” Yara said, stressing the name slightly as a reminder as he made his way over. “What have you got for me?”
Yamamoto wrinkled his nose for a moment before beginning to speak, rapidly and without really breathing. “Well… Takk-Takizawa was in here earlier, right? Said he wanted information compiled on the trains that pass closest to the Empire without actually crossing the borders. So I’ve been working on that while waiting for Hayashi to finish up on his files, but then I realized that something really weird was going on, and viola!” While he sucked in a deep breath, he turned the laptop to present his data to Yara.
Yara’s eyes flicked over the screen, taking it in all in a glance. “… Really?”
“Really.” Yamamoto confirmed. “There’s no stops, no reports of disturbance, but there are inaccuracies with the manifests every three weeks. Small ones, ones your eyes skate over if you’re not looking for them. But this is from the past year, from just a few months before the… incident with Agent Fujigaya.”
Yara grimaced at the reminder. Yara and Yamamoto had personally handled Takizawa’s request - off the record, of course, and with no promise of not being hunted for it - to hack into the files surrounding the mission Fujigaya had vanished off on, which had lead to Kitayama exposing the whole operation. Fujigaya was still in therapy.
But this could be something. This could be a step in the right direction. Takizawa was slowly rooting out the corruption, unraveling the mess within while trying to stay one step ahead of the Empire.
“Send this on to Watanabe,” he said, handing the laptop back to Yamamoto. “And good work.”
He paused, smiling softly. “Ryouta.”
Yamamoto grinned to himself as he leaned over his laptop, sending his discovery on up the chain.
