why don't they use science and math for women's clothing sizing?

After a few hours (yes hours) of shopping for a pair of jeans, I have called it quits for the day. I thought I knew what I was looking for, but as with all women's clothes shopping I was sadly mistaken. I thought it would simply be me going in and finding my brand of jeans in my size with the correct styling. I was oh so very wrong ( Read more... )

HERE HERE!!!

I'm a bit shorter than you are, so my size in men's jeans *tends* to be available, and that's part of the point, too - you pretty much *know* what size you are in men's jeans and all the options are there! And men's jeans are comfortable - if I get the size that "fits" me in women's jeans, I can't sit down in them without thinking I'm going to puncture myself or split every seam. Go bigger, and it's baggy in *all* the wrong places. Apparently that's what I get for having hips.

Levi's usually measures in waist and inseam, but who has an extra $100 to spend on them these days?
