A little more than a drabble... ares132006 April 3 2013, 06:05:11 UTC
Thanks, Dark Star, for the prompt. I went over the 100 words, just a smidge.

--------------

He looked different, Buffy thought, as she sat there staring at him. It was impossible, she knew. Vampires don't change. They are eternal. She stared intently, trying to figure out why he looked different.

His eyes were still dark and full of mystery. His lips promised sweet kisses and hot passion. His face was beautiful. An angel's face. If one had eternity, it was a great body to be in.

Buffy glanced at his hands. Those wonderful hands that could be both gentle and violent. She loved his hands.

She raised her eyes and finally saw what was different about her ex-boyfriend. No longer was he waiting for her. While she was cookie dough, he had done baking.

Buffy felt as if she were falling.

So sad, Ares. And a neat twist on the way that it always seems to be Angel that waits for Buffy…

Yeah, well I'm getting a little fed up with Buffy keeping Angel waiting. So I thought I might scare her into seeing what just could happen if she left it too long...

*g*

Thanks again for the prompt.
