I feel really cut off from home at the moment. I can't wait for all the homework to be over and for free time to mean free time, when you can pick up the phone, tell the people you love that you do, and get to chat for hours afterwards.

On the whole I think I do very well at coping with the distance. A lot better than this time last year for sure. So I have a right to feel down every now and then.

I'd give anything to have him here.

For now, I'd settle just for knowing when I'm next going to see him again.

I get annoyed by people who wallow in self pity as much as the next man but this week has just taken the absolute biscuit. I am SICK of:

• Colds
• Infestations
• Job applications
• Hackers
• Coursework

I feel monumentally thick and unemployable. Not helped by having a thick head from this cold.
