Find me an island, lavish and serene,
Away from your cheating, wandering eyes.
A place where the water is blue and green,
And the wind my only witness and spy.

But no man (or woman) is an island
And while the solace might be a comfort
While I'm relaxing on the warm, soft sand
Nights are cold and lonely with no cohort

When the sun rises, I'll be swept away,
to another destination alone,
struggling to find the right words to say.
This time, my love, I won't be coming home.

Island to island I'll search long and hard,
A small, lost and hopeless vagabond bard.

Breakwater

As the jams climb high into the aire
driving freaks & tweaks onto our stage,
she springs with liquid steps so brine and rare.
Our minds nigh choke - as she checks our gaze.

Scylla's kin around the crowd, in roars
and geysers she flows - her feet strike oarsmen time.
We dance her rocky straits, but show our core:
flotsam & minnows before her body rhyme.

Inside her eye becalmed - we close, unbound
by fear and woe, we dare to touch a gail.
Her smile monsoons and fury drags us down,
til broken, we drop - limbs so weak and frail.
And as she spins - a typhoon keening sky -
the dirge claps on. Her beat will stay alive.

The Huckleberry Blues

Drama and decapitation abound,
false death and those who wish to rate like fae,
In the midst of this wank we have yet found,
An isle of peace, where we write_away

Not quite a bard, our talents' passions churn
stand firm 'gainst stinging lash of iron wit
With luck, perhaps, we'll stay another turn
Or else we've found our work is naught but shit

A stormy night, a father gone so long
that contest showed us our first victory
We watched them go, they who did not belong
the winner? We'll just have to wait and see.

Survivors on an island not of sand
fall one by one till all alone we stand
