very nice commentary on the pitfalls of gift shopping and oh so true. I've gotten many "fluffy" books from older people who don't understand that just because I like to read doesn't mean I like to read ANYTHING. Though I did receive a bunch of cookbooks from my son's greatgrandma this year that I will actually use, in fact, I've been meaning to buy more cookbooks. But, then again, she does make an attempt to give me things she remembers I'm interested in. Though she is also guilty of random uplifting book syndrome.
