I've been getting practice essay questions from SAT books. Is it okay to post an official question here followed by my essay response? If not, do you know of any communities that would accept this?

I don't think we have any rules on what sort of writing you can post up here for comments. I'd say go for it.

I wouldn't post the question in full. The college board is iffy about copyright. Besides, your essay should state a thesis, which should adequately describe what question you are answering.

I have some vague that any accurately-cited of no more than words in length qualifies "fair use" under the. So perhaps if the omits one word in five -- thus leaving no quotation than half the legal -- the College Board will OK with it. :P

Yeah, buuuuut there is so much copyright infringment on the interwebs--where do you draw the line? I'd rather say something than nothing at all. The college board might never visit write_away, but on that same line of thought, I might not visit the message board where one of my poems is posted in full.

So...set an example, and hopefully others will follow. :)

And related to this, college board likes to use essays about the internet and fair use in their tests.
