Don't worry, I'm not subbing again.

I'm not clogging up your flist with any more of my writing, although I do have an old short story about an amusement park ride I'd like to post. But I won't. Instead, I've got a quick question:

Are we still keeping track of crits? I ask, because when I went to check how many crits I've done recently, the system seems to think I've never critted ( Read more... )

Heh. I didn't even notice that it was so behind on the dates. I'm so unobservant. I swear, nuclear warfare could go on around me and I wouldn't even realize.

Well, I keep a laaaaaazy eye on things and poke anyone I suspect. If I don't recognize someone as a regular critter, and don't see any recent crits, I will ask.

coyotecult is keeping track. She's like Santa Claus, only bristlier and with sharper teeth.

I keep track. I just get behind. Very behind. Then I rush and make them all up in one fell swoop. I know I caught up last December during Winter Break. When my finals are over next week, it'll be time for another zerg rush of crit counting--a couple eight hour days will see them tallied, no problem.

Doing my thesis has taken a big toll on my time. But don't worry, I do keep track on the fly while we go about. You're not getting the shaft--I know you crit and that you're nice & not naughty.

The system's code needs a bit of an overhaul; the whole site does. It needs to start being skinned in Smarty or perhaps I'll move the code over to Python...

In any case, I want to make a system that does some fancier things, that is more automated, that would let more people than me submit crits, etc etc. And write a Greasemonkey script that would let me do it by clicking a button while viewing a post. Because then it would take me a miniscule amount of time to get the crits in, as opposed to the whole copy paste rigmarole I do now.

Did somebody say he has an old story he's holding out on? What's this?

I said that. Shouldn't I have?

That's just me suggesting you post it anyway.

I may. I wrote it nearly two or three years ago, so it's not as good as it could be if I wrote it again, but it's really uncharacteristic of my writing. Present tense, second-person: two things I usually detest. I also think it may border on Wisconsin, since I'm pretty sure it's rather cheesy. Perhaps I'll give it a once-over and then give it to you guys to grate.
