Those bastards lovely people over at ADV Media cancelled all future releases of Yotsuba& in English. After only three volumes, they pull the project and have it in "hiatus" status indefinately!! I'm so pissed off; angry; furious upset; this is one of the cutest mangas (that doesn't relate to romance/bl/adventure/high school girls) that I've read ( Read more... )

Aw, that totally sucks! I know some English manga publishers have pulled that kind of thing. I can't remember if it was ADV doing it with another series, or some other publisher entirely. Not that it matters, it just sucks either way.

By all means, write to them if you can find an address. (If I come across an address, I'll let you know.) Every bit of consumer feedback helps. It might not change anything, but it'll make you feel better.

But you know me, I'm all in favor of the "learn Japanese because the bastards won't translate my stuff" philosophy. (If anyone ever licenses Koori, I will drop dead from the shock.) And it opens up so much more yummy stuff to read! ^_~

I've been trying to find a torrent of scans or something for the latest books but that fabulous site you directed me to was down the last time I tried them and I've been unsucessful to find another that was any good.

Are there any other bittorrent sites of worth out there?

The latest books of... what? Yotsuba? But I thought you had all five volumes of that in Japanese? Or some other series?

Was the one I linked you to Tokyo Toshokan? It's working for me now. Other than that, when I want to torrent something, I generally just google the title I want and "torrent." But raw manga's a bit trickier to find torrents of than anime and scanlations, if that's what you wanted. For scanlations, the best guide is usually the torrent links (if any) provided by the site that scanlated the manga; some sites offer torrents, some don't.

I was hoping to find translations/scanlations for volumes 4 and 5. As far as I know, only 5 have been released so far. 5 came out in April and they are averaging about 8 months apart.

Yeah, I tried the site after my nap and it was working for me too. They only had scans of what I already have in licenced English, so I don't need them. Hopefully, they'll get the rest up soon.

/sigh It's no fun when $$$s is the bottom line for entertainment. I think we get the bum rap.
