It's a truly beautiful film, but it's *brutal*. It's just *NOT A KIDS FILM* even if the protagonist is eleven. It's brutal and it's bleak and I love it, but I'm not takig a 7 year old to see it!

Seriously! I bet all the poor girl's nightmare monsters have eyes in their hands :(
The Devil's Backbone was like that, too, the main characters were young boys but, again, set during the Spanish civil war and brutal.
