I re-read this story over the past week. This is one of the stories that affected me the most when I discovered fan fiction. I couldn't believe that there were people who wrote such spot-on portrayals of the characters from the show. This could have been filmed. It would have been dramatic, sexy and very fulfilling.
You do an amazing job of letting both Justin and Brian grow and mature and yet they retain themselves. Brian is still Brian. He's not suddenly going to start volunteering at the GLC. But this Brian is willing to say that he wants Justin in his life. That's the character development that I expected over the years of QAF. When it didn't happen I felt that they shortchanged the viewers and the Brian character. Thank you for giving Brian a chance to grow up and choose to not be bound by his past.
Thank you. That is a comment that I truly appreciate, because I try very hard to keep these characters true to themselves because I know how dearly beloved they are

Thank you. Your comment means a great deal to me because I love these characters and have great respect for the talents of the actors who created them (often without a great deal of help from the writing they were given to work with). I try very hard to keep true to the characters as I understand them, so it's always great (and something of a relief) to hear that someone thinks I've succeeded in doing that.

Oh, yes, well, exactly. And in short changing Brian, of course they also short changed Justin.
I guess that's why Experiment is one of my personal faves - because it was written before all that played out in canon, when we still had such hopes for the characters, still believed that something like this growth was going to be allowed them

Finding this fic was the best thing that happened all weekend! I absolutely L O V E your writing style, your take on Brian & Justin, Mikey - the whole QAF crew! I'm completely with you in the wish that canon had been more like this... so instead I'll just keep reading your brilliant stories! and re-reading them, and re-reading them, and re-reading them ;-P
Thank you. That's a lovely compliment. I have my favourite authors that I go back to time and again, so it's nice that someone thinks of my fics that way.
Hi. This is a really fantastic story. I love how they get close, and Brian has a chance to be happy and be protected by Justin so he can let down some of his defenses. Thanks so much for writing this.
Thank you. Experiment was the first long story I ever wrote. I had no intention of writing a long fic. But once I started the chapters just seemed to keep coming. I have to admit it has a special place in my heart. I guess because it was written before Vic's death, before cancer and LA and the mess that was S5, so it has a sort of innocence - in my mind anyway.
Reading all your stories again, and just finished "Experiment", have to say it , if possible, was even better the second time around. A truly brilliant story, fabulous writing.
I have to admit that Experiment will always hold a special place in my heart. It really was the long fic that I swore I'd never write. If I'd had even the remotest guess at the beginning how long it would be, it never would have been written LOL.
And without it, I never would have tackled Reverb or Homecoming.
So I'm glad you enjoyed re-reading, and thanks for letting me know.
